hard to understand? That would be very nice thanks
It means someone took the entire contents of the Minitokyo site... (That is,
probably only the wallpapers, the scans and the fanart, not the webpages
themselves) ...and put it up somewhere as a Torrent download. It falls somewhere
within the same line as taking wallpapers from this site and put them up on
another site without permission.

Quote by Silvana11Oh... bad news... I
didn't even know that was possible :/ But that you for
telling
Well, since I don't know entirely how Minitokyo does the whole credit/download
quota detraction upon download, it's possible someone found a way to
batch-download everything outside of that system. I know there are various
web-browser plugins that lets you download all pictures from a specific server,
for instance.
This is just a guess, though, so I'm not saying that's what really happend. Just
that it's most likely what happened, given the amount of pictures featured on
this site. It would be impossible to get everything via credits and the download
quota, even back when it was set to 30.
I fail to understand, though, why someone went through the trouble of putting
everything to torrent. I seriously doubt someone is going to bother sifting
through tens of thousands of wallpapers and scans to see what he or she would
like to keep.
I dunno...it's all just strange.

Oh, the presentation was great. I merely pointed out that your vector work could
use some more adjustment to make it look more like a painting rather than that
the linework looking like it was made by a ballpoint pen. (If you understand
what I mean.) The coloring was good, the backgrounds weren't bad at all and the
composition was great. The linework/vectoring was just a little too... prominent
for its own good.

Well, what I wanna say is that the red archer(the servant of Tosaka Lin) is
actually shirou.
Doh! I kinda forgot all about this thread (and I never saw it on the
"recent thread" part of MT either), so here's a strongly delayed
reply. Sorry about the delay here. ^^;;
Anyway, Shirou and (Tousaka's) Rider the same? How can that be, given that the
two talk face to face several times during the anime? What's more, (Tousaka's)
Archer has another identity, one that's based on a legendary hero (much like all
the servants.) I'm not sure how much you want me to spoil, though, since I don't
know how much you've watched of the show, even by now. I've seen all of it,
though, so if you want to discuss it, I'll be glad to be of assistance.
Quote by LITTLECHIISANi know all

I know. My comment wasn't really aimed at you anyway. I did find some of the
other comments amusing, though, especially the ones who went off on how the
companies licensing and importing anime only thought about making money off
them, which is usually the number one excuse for people who make a habit of
downloading the fansubs or, even worse, buying bootlegs. Of course, those people
usually DON'T want any US companies to license anything.
I/We (and by "we", I mean my fellow members at the THEM boards) have
occationally had to deal with those kind of people, and it's become somewhat of
a sore spot with us. I don't have anything in personal against fansubs -- I do
believe that, in some cases, it's helped along a license to a series that might
otherwise have been left unnoticed -- as long as people understand that fansubs
are NOT a free replacement from having to buy the real thing.
I guess I'm preaching to the choir here, but I do need to get that off my chest
from time to time. ^^;;

Quote by Billy85hi just want to say that
you have good avatar
Thanks. May I assume you recognize her?
Mmm...nope,I can't recognize her..from which anime is it?
It's Crystal Claire from the Galaxy Express 999: Eternal Fantasy movie. (That's
where I grabbed the screencap and used it for the avatar anyway.) She also
appears in the original Galaxy Express 999 series and the first movie.
(Basically, the TV series and the first movie are telling the same story, with
slight differences, of course.)
It's an old and somewhat obscure show, so I'm not surprised that you didn't
recognized her. The show is created by Leiji Matsumoto, who'se work you might
have seen in the Daft Punk videos that went on TV around five years ago and
eventually was made into a musical called Interstella 5555, based on the Daft
Punk album Discovery. Comes highly recommended.
Quote by nedved11DUDE THANKX FOR THE
HUGE COMMENT ON MY THREAD...
Any time, my friend. Me and my fellow THEMers participate in something we call
"Synchro Sessions", which basically boils down to us MSTing bad anime
over AIM. And man, has that introduced us to many, many bad anime titles over
the last couple of years.
Can I assume you're keeping up with the sequel to Aria the animation, namely
Aria the natural? I just watched the
third episode, and I gotta say, this is looking SERIOUSLY good. They finally got
Al out of the dungeons too, which was great, because I found him to be a fun
character in the manga. ^_^
Aria is more than just a slice-of-life anime. Maybe we can dub anime like this
into "Life-is-good" anime, something animedom could use a whole lot
more of.
Seriously, if this show remains unliscensed while crap like Highschool Girls or
Tactical Roar gets liscensed, then there is no damn justice in the world.
Quote by shoujoboyI've been fighting
the battle to have a revamp in the review system behind the scenes for a while
now. I too think that within the confines of the review criteria, it does
sometimes create an unjust overall grade. You could have something like this
that fails at what makes an anime good, but it looks good in the animation
department score better than it should. Or you could have something like Utena
(purely opinion of course) score low because the animation is bad.
I've been wanting to add another category to it all, something to the likes of
'tilt'. This portion of the review would have no impact on the overall review in
the other 4 categories, but it will instead show as a seperate score. So now you
will show something like a 4 based on the existing 4 categories, and a tilt of
say a 9, which shows that beyond what it looked or sounded like, you still found
it to be one hell of a ride.
Just take some time to think up ways to improve the review system, and let's see
what we can do eh?
Granted, but I still think it would be best for the reviewer to be able to
choose the overall rating him/herself, with a short paragraph added for the
purpose of an explanation of the rating. That way, we can even look at a
reviewer's preference for art/sounds versus content, which would be another
insight into the reviewer him/herself, and certainly a benefit to the
reader.
